The members of Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Anambra State Council have paid a courtesy call on the Managing Director of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Sir Chido Obidiegwu to seek collaboration with the station ahead of the chapel’s 2022 symposium.

 

The delegation was led on the visit by the chairman of the chapel, Mr. Chuks Ilozue.

The symposium scheduled to hold on November twenty-fourth, 2022 has its theme as; “The Role of Media in Guaranteeing the Sanctity of The Electoral Process in Nigeria”.

 

Mr. Ilozue described Sir Chido as a consummate professional and explained that the visit afforded them the opportunity to interact and find areas of mutual cooperation and shared interests.

On his part, the Chairman of the Symposium Planning Committee, Mr. David Eleke appealed to the Anambra State Government to acknowledge the chapel’s potential in keying into Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision and assured that they would improve on investigative reporting and renewed community engagement.

 

Responding, Sir Chido assured them of the collaboration of the establishment, noting that journalists remain an ideal voice in achieving Governor Soludo’s vision for the state.

The ABS MD tasked the union on professional coverage, reporting of security and election issues, among others.
