The Managing Director of Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, ASHIA, Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi, has said that it is only health insurance that will guarantee universal health coverage.
Dr. Onyemaechi, who stated this while speaking to newsmen in Awka, said that the agency will continue to do everything humanly possible to ensure that all its enrollees get value for their money, and announced that they are about to hit two hundred thousand enrollees.
The ASHIA boss maintained that only health insurance will give more people, especially the poor and vulnerable access to affordable, accessible and efficient healthcare service at all times.
He appealed to politicians, affluent individuals, organizations and people of goodwill to also register poor and vulnerable people in their neigbourhood as a Christmas gifts, rather than perishables.
Dr. Onyemaechi commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for all his support to the agency which according to him, has enable them to introduce so many innovations into the scheme, which has made ASHIA a reference point in terms of health insurance scheme in Nigeria.
According to Dr Onyemaechi, with one thousand naira monthly or twelve thousand naira yearly, one can be enrolled into the scheme to enjoy all the health benefits embedded in it.
