The State Acting Director, National orientation Agency, Dr. Mike Ozoemena has called on traditional rulers in the country to stand tall in promoting peace, security and unity for holistic progress of the nation.
Dr Ozoemena, was speaking when he led some top management staff of the Agency on a courtesy visit to the traditional Ruler of Ogidi community, in Idemili North Local Government Area, Igwe Alex Onyido Uzo in his palace.
The NOA Acing Director who maintained that the issue of peace and security is very critical to the government and the people, noted that reason behind the courtesy visit to the traditional Ruler was to felicitate with him on his emergence on the throne .
He said that NOA would continue to identify with anything that is good in the society as it is committed to building a better Nigeria , calling on the traditional Ruler to remain committed to the promotion of peace, security and unity of the Ogidi community.
He stated that the “change Begins with me” programme of the Federal Government is aimed at rebuilding the battered image of the country, urging the traditional Ruler to use his good office to propagate the message of the change campaign in the area.
Responding, the traditional Ruler, Igwe Onyido Uzo, thanked NOA for its love for Ogidi community, stressing that the community has been, for more than eighteen years, without a traditional Ruler.
The traditional Ruler assured the people that it is his firm duty to restore the lost glory of the community by ensuring that peace reign’s for the progress of the community
He promised the visiting team that he would work with them both at the state and the community levels, identifying the neglect of craftsmanship by Ndigbo as one of the factors responsible for massive unemployment problem in the zone.
In a vote thanks, the chief Orientation and mobilization officer of the Agency in Idemili North , Mr Remigius Obi, informed the visiting team that the traditional Ruler has before now committed a lot to maintenance of peace in Ogidi community and its environs.
