Venerable Professor Anayo Nkamnebe, Vincent Nkemdilim, Barrister Cosmos Okafor and Jason Onyeakagbusi have been collated as an Archdeacon; in Anglican Diocese of Awka.
Also, during the event Reverends Canon Clement Izuegbu, Shedrack Obidajuo, Jonathan Ikpeoyi, Joseph Onyibo, Chukwudi Nkwankwo and Chidi Ofuaro were made statutory Canons of the Cathedral.
Performing the function which took place at the Cathedral Church of Saint Faith Awka the Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim charged them to accept the duties and responsibilities of the office with due humility, integrity and undertake to be faithful pastors to all whom they are called to serve, labour together with them and persevere in prayers both in public and private.
Most Reverend Ibezim reminded them to offer all their labours to God through the mediation of Jesus Christ and sanctification of the holy spirit even as he challenged them to focus more on evangelism, preaching Christ and restoration of morals in the society.
Earlier in his sermon, the Retreatant, Right Reverend Joseph Musa of Idda Diocese who spoke on the theme’ Come Up Higher’, said God is calling them for integrity, maturity and dedication to His work, noting that as representatives of Christ, they should work and walk according to Christ teaching and be loyal to their Bishop.
While thanking God for their elevation, Venerable Vincent Nkemdilim and Venerable Jason Onyeakagbusi on behalf of others said they are called to higher position with enormous task which they believe that by the grace of God, they will conquer and restore more souls back to Christ.
The service was attended by the Deputy Governor of Anambra State Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, top government officials, Knights and Ladies Auxiliary, the Clergy among others.
The priests took oath of canonical obedience, submission, allegiance to God and others while Collation and installation formed the high point of the service.
