Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Sir Paul Nwosu, has urged the state Road Traffic Management Agency, ARTMA, and the Federal Road Safety Corp, FRSC, to ensure free flow of traffic across the state this yuletide.
Sir Paul was speaking during an interactive session with the agencies in Awka.
Sir Paul appealed to residents of the state to support Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration in making Anambra a better place and assured that seventy percent of security issues in the state have been checkmated to maintain a serene and stable atmosphere for Ndi Anambra.
He noted that Christmas is not only the season of love but also a time for Ndi Anambra to extend hands of charity to one another, while commending the agencies for their outstanding performances in maintaining safety and free flow of traffic in the state.
Responding, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ARTMA, Sir Emeka Okonkwo, assured of their readiness and plans to enthrone free flow of traffic this season, urging Ndi Anambra to always obey traffic signs.
On his part, the state Sector Commander of the FRSC, Mr. Adeoye Irelewuyi, noted that Anambra State is a gateway into eastern states, and made it clear that they are ready and open for nationwide operations including deploying over eight hundred personnel and provision of three healthcare centers in Awka, Nteje and Onitsha for victims of road crashes.
He assured that the FRSC is committed to creating a safer monitoring environment in collaboration with other sister traffic agencies through quality management system and improving mode of operational standards.
