Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, has cautioned road users against nonchalant attitude on roads this Christmas and New Year seasons.
Deputy Governor Ibezim gave the warning while decongesting traffic along the Amansea Enugu/Onitsha Expressway by Gariki.
Dr Ibezim, who expressed dismay on actions of some motorists and other road users on the highways such as answering phone calls, driving one-way, disobedience to road signs among others said that they should learn to comport themselves while on the road this period so as to avoid preventable road crashes and gridlocks.
The deputy governor stressed that all should join hands to make the Christmas and New Year Festivals worthwhile in Anambra State.
Deputy Governor Ibezim also used the opportunity to wish Ndi Anambra Merry Christmas and a happy New Year, assuring, especially the returnees of adequate security.
During the traffic decongestion exercise, road users poured encomium on Deputy Governor Ibezim for making out time to engage in such a humanitarian service.
The during the exercise, Deputy Governor Ibezim visited Amawbia Bypass and Eke-Awka where he noticed free vehicular movements.
