Chief Ikechukwu Agbogu of Umuochiogu kindred Nri,Anaocha council area, has built and donated five hundred KVA transformer, tarred about two kilometers of road, ultra-modern village hall, water borehole and three hundred KVA generator to his kindred.

 

Ndi Umuochiogu kindred Nri and their friends from within and outside the village converged to witness God’s blessings upon them through their son, Chief Ikechukwu Agbogu.

 

Governor Chukwuma Soludo, the Chairman of Anambra State Traditional Rulers’ Council and Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe, many other traditional rulers, some Nollywood actors led by Harry B, and other notable individuals.

Commissioning the projects; beginning with the five hundred KVA transformer to the two kilometers of road, the water borehole, the three hundred KVA generator for the borehole, as well as the ultramodern Umuochiogu kindred hall, Governor Soludo represented by his Deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, who was at the event with his wife, applauded the generosity of the benefactor, Chief Agbogu, adding that just like Neni, Nri community has joined the league of Anambra communities that are helping the government in developing their areas.

 

Governor Soludo noted that community development is enormous and should not be left for government alone, calling on other individuals to heed to his call and develop their communities, even as he pledged to give every support needed to actualize the goal.

 

The traditional ruler of Onitsha, who is also the Chairman, South East Traditional Rulers’ Council and Chairman, Anambra State Traditional Ruler’s Council, Igwe Achebe, commended the benefactor for his service to humanity, urging him not to relent.

Other traditional rulers, including the traditional ruler of Ukwulu, Igwe Peter Uyanwa, his Unuawulu counterpart, Igwe Joel Egwuonwu and their Akweze counterpart,said that Chief Agbogu is a blessing to Nri and Anambra State in general, noting that he utilized his wealth well; unlike some who use their money to foment trouble, instead of developing their communities.

 

The benefactor, Chief Agbogu, while speaking to the ABS, said though the move was in everlasting memory of his late father, Sir Godfrey Agbogu, his motivation was the biblical quotation that in giving, one receives.

 

Chief Agbogu thanked Governor Soludo for providing the enabling environment by tackling insecurity in the state, in spite of the dwindling economy of the State , calling for total support to the present administration in the state for more development.

 

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the ABS, Sir Chido Obidiegwu, attended the event which featured presentation of award to Chief Agbogu by Umuochiogu kindred, performance by Harry B, other high life musicians and masquerade display.
