The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ezeakunne Foundation, Chief Vincent Nwankwo has distributed two hundred bags of rice to the less privileged persons in his community, Onneh in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra state.
Four persons from the four villages in the community were also selected and empowered with a motorcycle each, Chief Nwankwo also used the event to open his new house and thanked God for using his Ezeakunne Foundation to bless many lives in the community for the past ten years and explained that the foundation was born out of his desire to alleviate the plights of his people and from his passion to serve humanity.
He explained that a healthy society is one where anybody can maximize his potential not minding their social class and without any hindrance or social exclusion and urged the beneficiaries of the motorcycles to make optimal use of the opportunity to become self-reliant and help themselves, their immediate families and the community at large.
Some of the beneficiaries, including Mr Abuchi Okafor and Mr Ugochukwu Okonkwo expressed joy and gratitude to their benefactor and promised to better their lives from the motorcycles given to them.
Earlier in his speech immediately after a holy mass to bless the new house, Reverend Father Stanley Moses of the Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia said that Chief Nwankwo is a man of the people and a kind hearted man who sees good and great potential in every human being that comes his way and prayed God to continue to prosper him so that he would find the grace and compassion to do more for the people of Onneh.
Some of the friends of Chief Nwankwo who came to share in his joy, including Engr Martin Mbalu, Messrs Chukwunwike Nwosu, Mr Chukwuebuka Nwokediba, and Uzor Nzeribe described him as a father figure to all and prayed God to bless him more so that he can continue to serve his community.
Some dignitaries who graced the occasion include, the immediate past President General of Onneh Patriotic Union, Mr Uchenna Mmaduike, the Deputy President, National Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Anambra State chapter, Comrade Austin Nwafor, and Members of Ultimate Business Women and Farmers Association, Orumba South chapter led by their Coordinator, Mrs Oluchi Nsuofor.
Masquerades display also thrilled guests at the ceremony.
