The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor has charged Christians to always follow the directives of Christ in order to record successes this year 2023.
In a sermon at Saint John the Divine church Oko in Orumba, North Local government area, his home church, during a service to usher in the New year, Bishop Ezeofor warned Christians against following those leaders that have no vision and mission.
He regretted that many people have left leaders that know the way by following those he described as focus less and mission less leaders who have continued to lead them astray.
Speaking on the circumcision of Jesus Christ, Bishop Ezeofor maintained that circumcision of any male child eight days after birth is a sign of covenant between God and Man.
He charged Christians to restrain themselves from those acts that will continue to stand as a barrier between them and their creator, reminding them of the need to be humble and chaste this 2023 and beyond in order to attract more of God’s blessings and Mercy.
Bishop Ezeofor advised Christians not to carry over their Worries of 2022 into 2023, urging them to remain focused and determined as 2023 holds a great prospect for the faithful.
Describing disobedience as the bane of the present-day Christians, Bishop Ezeofor who is also the National Chairman of the Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican Communion EFAC Nigeria, stressed the need for the people to always obey and respect those in leadership positions in order to enthrone a decent and God-fearing society.
In a remark the Vicar of Saint John the Divine church Oko and Archdeacon of Oko Archdeaconry Venerable Steve Nnadi charged the faithful to build a new relationship with their fellow being in addition to praying and loving their enemies this New year and beyond.
The service which was attended by the president of Aguata Diocesan Women’s Ministry Mrs Chinyere Ezeofor and some Diocesan officials, featured a special anthem by the choir and series of prayers especially for the smooth conduct of next Month’s general election in Nigeria.
