Amanuke Development Union Lagos Branch, ADU, has appreciated the Professor Chukwuma Soludo led administration for flagging off the Amansea-Ebenebe- Ugbenu- Ugbene- Awba Ofemmili road in Awka North Local Government Area for construction, and the pace of work on the road recently, calling for its completion in due time.
The group made the commendation through the Chairman, Mr Chinedu Egwuonwu, when they paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists, Anambra state council at the NUJ Secretariat in Awka.
Mr Egwuonwu while describing Awka North as one of the major food baskets of Anambra state, pointed out that if the present government of Professor Soludo will commission and complete all the major roads in the area, that food will be surplus in the state, and population in Awka South and other major cities in Anambra will drastically reduce as many people will love to relocate to Awka North because of good things the area is blessed with.
He also pleaded with the state government to also intervene on Isuaniocha-Urum- Amanuke-Achalla roads to reduce the sufferings of people in the area and give them easy access to evacuate their farm produce for food sufficiency across the state.
The Secretary of the group, Mr Okechukwu Okeke while congratulating Dr Odogwu on his victory as the NUJ Anambra state Chairman said that they visited to identify with him as a great son of Amanuke who has been representing the community well, wishing him more success and upliftment in all his endeavours.
Contributing, former Vice Chairman of the group, Mr Michael Mmekwe and a member of the union, Mr Ejike King-Ejike, commended Dr Odogwu for always bearing his community in mind and helping to attract some developments to the area.
Responding, the Chairman of Anambra NUJ, Dr Odogwu, thanked his people for felicitating with him, promising to continue to make Amanuke community and the entire Awka North Council Area proud, and called for unity among the community members as according to him, no society succeeds or develops without peace.
Other members of the delegation at the event during which an award of excellence was presented to the Anambra state NUJ Chairman, Dr Odogwu were the Vice Chairman, Mr Nduka Ejiofor, Welfare Officer, Mr Felix Nkemdilim, and Mr Akalachi Nweke.
