Umuezunu, Aguleri has celebrated her second unity carnival.

The Umuezunu Unity Carnival was to celebrate peace and unity in the community.

The carnival began with a rally round the town and a visit to Ama Obu Gad.

The event also featured wrestling matches and masquerade displays.

 

In his opening remark, the host of the carnival and leader of Umuezunu World Forum, Mr. Innocent Nduanya said the carnival was intended to foster development and consolidate the peace process which he expressed optimism has already been achieved after over fifteen years of communal conflict.

Expressing his satisfaction with the turnout of people during the carnival, the Chairman of the occasion, Chief Alex Igweze explained that the display of passion by the people showed total acceptance of peace and desire for development in the community.

 

Also, Reverend Father David Ozoema, the Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Nteje who gave a talk on “Brotherhood as a panacea for development” advised the members of the community to guide against envy and jealousy even as he urged them to respond to the community’s call to contribute their quota to the development of the community.

In their separate goodwill messages, the President General, Enugwu Aguleri Chief Emeka Nworji and the Chairman, Umuezunu 2023 Unity Carnival Planning Committee, Mr. Uchenna Iwunor prayed for long life and prosperity of member of the community.
