The final burial rites of the Late Mr. Josephat Nnanna Ejiofor have been concluded .
The late Mr. Ejiofor, also known as ‘Eze Ndi Igbo na Thailand’, died at the age of fifty in September 2022, and has since been buried in his country home, Enuabo village Obeledu, in Anaocha Local Government Area.
The Late Mr. Ejiofor was a devout Christian and member of Oganiru Age grade, Obeledu.
The burial rites, which were heralded with a special funeral service officiated by Catechist of St Paul’s Catholic Church Obeledu, Brother Pius Okpala, attracted people from far and near.
In his homily, the Catechist regretted that many families that profess Christ are still worshipping idols, describing such as lack of faith in God, adding that it is only righteous living that can guarantee one’s heavenly abode.
He urged the people to learn a lesson from any funeral ceremony they attend, and advised the Ejiofor family to take solace in the Lord, as well as take good care of the family the deceased left behind.
Speaking to the ABS after the funeral service, the elder step brother to the deceased, Mr. Sirachus Ozoemena, and his younger brother, Mr. Ndubueze Ejiofor, described the deceased as one who used his wealth for the service of God and humanity, and prayed God to grant him eternal rest.
Sisters to the deceased, Mrs. Chika Eziamaka and Mrs. Ngozika Nwankwo, who lamented that their brother’s death has created a great vacuum in their family, described the deceased as a peaceful and caring brother; whom they will miss dearly, and promised to ensure that his legacy is maintained.
On her part, first daughter of the deceased, Miss Esther Ejiofor, said their father lived a good and charitable life, taught them how to share what they have with others.
Chairman of Oganiru Age grade Obeledu, Chief Patrick Anaekwe, described their late member as a peaceful man; who used his wealth to help a lot of people, an attribute he said endeared him to others.
One of the deceased in-laws, Chief Ikechukwu Nwankwo, who noted that Mr. Ejiofor was a hardworking and dedicated young man; who derived pleasure in helping those who are in need, described his death as a rude shock to many, and prayed God to give them the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
Some guests who came to condole with the Ejiofor family, including Chief Chuks Okoye, Mr. Calistus Uzochukwu, and Mrs. Nkechi Nwankwo, prayed God to grant the family the grace to remain peaceful and united.
