Anambra State Housing Development Corporation, Awka, has organized a two-day capacity training for its staff aimed at improving productivity and re-engineering the workplace for optimal performance.

 

The workshop, held at the corporation’s headquarters in Awka, was in conjunction with the Industrial Training Fund, ITF.

The training also aimed to develop the knowledge, skills and capabilities of participants.

 

Speaking at the event , the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra State Housing Development Corporation, Mr. Chike Anyaonu, said he is committed to staff development through constant training and retraining.

 

Mr. Anyaonu further disclosed that the training will further equip staff to learn value added skills that will enable them perform at their various points of duty, while appealing to them to hold unto the teachings for their benefits.

Taking participants on ‘why reengineering the workplace’, the Area Manager, ITF Awka Branch, Mrs. Nancy Ekong, defined it as total overhauling of people at a workplace, their mindsets and behavior through utilization of technology and the creation of new value propositions.

 

She maintained that when organizations reengineer their workplace processes, the overall outcome will be an improved and sustained productive practice that will ultimately lead to profitability for all stakeholders.

The Head of Training, ITF, Awka Branch, Mr. Franklin Okafor, urged the participants to imbibe all that were bequeathed to them to restructure the corporation and take it to greater heights.

 

The Head, Human and General Resources of the Corporation, Mr. Victor Obiefuna and the Head, Corporate Services, Media and Marketing, Mrs. Jane Okafor, expressed hope that the training will change the attitude of some staff and government bureaucratic ways of doing things to world best practices.

One of the participants, Mr. Bartholomew Nwabude, thanked the management of the corporation for the workshop and pledged to utilize every knowledge garnered for their wellbeing and that of the corporation.
