Anambra State Government has approved weekly payment of taxes and levies by commercial Tricycle and shuttle bus operators.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo made the announcement during his usual interaction with commercial transport operators at the Professor Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Center in Awka.
While Tricycle operators now pay ten thousand naira, reviewed from fifteen thousand naira which can be broken into four, entailing two thousand five hundred naira per week, Taxi operators will now pay twelve thousand naira instead of seventeen thousand five hundred naira amounting to three thousand naira weekly, while shuttle buses will now pay three thousand naira weekly.
Mini truck operators are to pay three thousand seven hundred and fifty naira weekly, while motorcycle operators will now pay four thousand naira, amounting to one thousand naira weekly.
The Governor explained that his administration is committed to instituting a progressive tax system such that it will reflect the yearnings of the poor and common man in line with the ideals of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA.
He called for support to his administration to keep the state secure, clean, prosperous and livable.
