Christians have been charged to always meditate on life after death as it will assist in directing their actions on earth.
The former Parish Priest of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Umunankwo, Rev. Fr. Bartholomew Ogumelu gave the charge during the burial mass of late Mrs. Ngozi Mbanefo at the church in Ogbaru Council Area.
Late Mrs. Ngozi Mbanefo who died at the age of sixty-one was the wife of Sir Victor Mbanefo, a retired Head of Station, Anambra Broadcasting Service, Onitsha and former Director of Programmes.
Rev.Fr. Ogumelu noted that death is painful and comes with challenges on the family of the deceased and admonished people to stop adding to the pains of the bereaved during burial by making huge demands from them.
Rev. Fr. Ogumelu described Late Mrs. Mbanefo as a devout Christian who led different groups with outstanding performance, and urged Christians to strive to be good leaders wherever they are for a better society and called on the family of the deceased to find a way to immortalize their mother.
An indigenous Priest of Ogbaru, Rev Fr. Collins Ojenei during the mass, said that Sir Victor Mbanefo is a symbol of Ogbaru Pride and advised him to take care of his children.
In their separate words of condolences, the member representing Ogbaru two Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Somtoo Udeze, a retired Managing Director of ABS, Sir Amobi Adirika, a former President General Of Oraifite, Sir Ralph Nwike, Head of Commercial Department, of ABS Onitsha, Mr. Val Oguejiofor and the International Coordinator of Sisters Fellowship International, Mrs Hephzibah Omemgboji encouraged Sir Victor and his family to take heart and be consoled with the fact that the deceased lived a good life.
Children of the deceased, Mrs Victoria Obianwu, Nkechi Nsofor, Mazeli Mbanefo and a brother, Mr. Ifeanyi Ejikeme regretted the sudden departure of their mother and promised to hold on to her legacies.
The burial attracted priests, members of Sisters Fellowship International, Catholic Women Organization of St. Mary and St. Francis Umunankwo, ABS family both retired and active staff members, Association of Former Presidents General of Town Unions in Anambra State, in-laws, Friends, among others
