The Bishop of the newly created Catholic Diocese of Aguleri, Most Reverend Dennis Isizoh, has described the elevation as a call to service and worship.
Speaking in an interview with Ekwi Ajide, Bishop Isizoh said it is a move in the right direction because the Onitsha Archdiocese where the new Diocese was carved out is already too large for the close contact of faraway parishes.
Bishop Isizoh, called for all hands to be on deck in spreading the gospel of Christ in the region adding that a whole lot of other things such as education also needs to be propagated in the area.
Also in an interview, a benefactor of the Catholic Church in Nigeria who is an indigene of Anambra State, Chief Obiora Okonkwo, described the creation of a new Diocese in Anambra as good thing, saying that it will boost the morale of worshippers in the area.
Recall that Pope Francis recently created Diocese of Aguleri which will be inaugurated on the seventeenth of next Month with the present Auxiliary Bishop of Onitsha, Most Reverend Dennis Isizoh as itsPioneer Bishop.
