The Anambra State government has once again cautioned the National Association of Scrap and Waste Dealers of Nigeria NASWDEN against collecting fees from welders, scrap metal and metal fabricators in the state.
A statement signed by the Commissioner for Information Sir Paul Nwosu said that in spite of the suspension of the fee collection by the state government, the agents of the association have continued to operate in Violation of the government directive.
The statement noted that NASWDEN neither sought nor obtained any approval from the Anambra state government before engaging in what they are doing presently.
It called on the association to immediately discontinue fee collection from scrap metal, welding and fabrication businesses and made it clear that further violation of the directive will attract stiff sanctions.
