Governor Chukwuma Soludo has reassured that his government will make sure that the Chukwuemaka Odumegwu Ojukwu University remains among the top universities across the federation.

The Governor gave the assurance in a speech delivered during this year’s Federation of African Law Students International Conference held at the Chukwuemaka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam Campus, with the theme, “Election and National Development in Africa ”.

Governor Soludo who was represented by his Deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim said that his administration is highly interested in the education system of the state and is committed to transforming it to meet up with international standards, to produce graduates that can compete with their counterparts globally.

He asked the law students to be serious with their studies and acquire knowledge that would enable them to address societal problems.

Earlier in an address, the Vice Chancellor of the Chukwuemaka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Professor Greg Nwakoby commended the efforts of the state government in the education sector, and reminded the would-be lawyers in the institution that law profession demands boldness, smartness, discipline, among others.

Professor Nwakoby called on the executive, judiciary and legislative arms of government to sit-up in their duties and to always consider the plights of the poor masses while enacting laws, so as to restore people’s confidence in governance.
