A chieftain of the All progressives Grand Alliance APGA Chief Boniface Egbutu has described apathy during elections as one of the factors militating against the conduct of free, fair and credible elections in Nigeria.

Speaking to the ABS in Awka, Chief Egbutu charged every eligible voter in Nigeria to come out en-masse this Saturday to elect a president that will be a father to all Nigerians irrespective of tribe, Creed, party or religion saying that what Nigerians will consider during Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly election is the pedigree of those involved before casting their votes.

Chief Egbutu who canvassed for the emergence of a president that will give the South-East a sense of belonging in the Nation’s polity called on the Independent National Electoral commission INEC to ensure that the vote of the people count during the elections.

He charged the people to desist from using their personal platforms to announce the results of the forthcoming election before the Independent National Electoral commission INEC whose duty is to announce election results.

Chief Egbutu who is a community leader at Nise in Awka South local government area, cautioned the people especially the Youths against causing confusion during elections reminding them of the need to be law abiding.

He advised the electorate to be at their various polling centres early enough for accreditation in order not to be disenfranchised.

Chief Egbutu who expressed optimism that the forthcoming elections will positively change the political landscape of the Nigerian-Nation cautioned the electorate against mortgaging their conscience and future during the election.
