The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor says promotion and appointment comes with additional responsibilities and challenges.
In a sermon at the Cathedral Church of Saint John, Ekwulobia in Aguata Local Government Area during the induction and institution of Venerable Ifeanyichukwu Ogbueli as the fifth Archdeacon of Ekwulobia Archdeaconry and Cathedral Administrator, Bishop Ezeofor maintained that those who are in the frontline of their duties normally face challenges and called on the people to always put them in their prayers to overcome life challenges.
Bishop Ezeofor who maintained that promotion only comes from God, cautioned Ministers of God against lobbying for it since according to him it will come at the appropriate time.
The Anglican Prelate affirmed that temptation does not respect personalities which he said is as a result of selfish desire of the flesh.
Bishop Ezeofor who is also the National Chairman of the Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican communion EFAC, Nigeria, disclosed that the word of God is serving as a check on mankind against sin and urged Christians not to allow sin deny them eternity.
He regretted the high rate of idolatry in the society especially among the Youths and announced that Aguata Diocese will soon launch a total war against idolatry as part of efforts aimed at restoring sanity to the society in addition to saving the future of the Youths who are the leaders of tomorrow.
Bishop Ezeofor charged leaders to always aspire to be role models warning them against being self-centered.
In a remark, the Cathedral Administrator Venerable Ogbueli who commended Bishop Ezeofor for series of programmes put in place in the Diocese called for a serious synergy between the clergy and laity for enhanced evangelism.
The Immediate past Cathedral Administrator Venerable Chijioke Nwankwo who has been transferred to Umuchu Archdeaconry led his successor into the Cathedral entrance.
One of the dignitaries that attended the event Mr. Ugochukwu Ezenwosu, commended Venerable Ogbueli on his new position and asked Nigerians to be alive to their civic responsibilities.
The service which was conducted by Reverend Canon Paul Modekwe featured oath of canonical obedience and allegiance by the new Cathedral Administrator, anthem by the choir and was attended by the President of Aguata Diocesan Women’s Ministry Mrs Chinyere Ezeofor, Aguata Diocesan Clerical Synod Secretary Venerable Decency Chine, and some Diocesan officials.
