The 2023 State House of Assembly election was adjudged peaceful at Ebeifiteora-Square, polling units 004 and 007, Nawgu Ward One, Dunukofia Local Government area.

 

Accreditation and voting commenced simultaneously at the polling units around eight o’clock in the morning under a peaceful atmosphere.

 

ABS gathered that that the electorate were orderly, while the BIVAS Machines worked perfectly.

 

Speaking after casting his vote, the transition committee chairman, Dunukofia Local Government Area, Mr. Augustine Onyemaobi, attributed the peaceful conduct of the exercise to the provision of adequate security by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

 

Mr. Onyemaobi commended Governor Soludo and security agencies for eliminating crime in the state and urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to ensure that the results of the election reflect the votes cast.

 

He also thanked the people of Nawgu for coming out en-masse to exercise their franchise, expressing optimism that the peoples’ votes will count.
