Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, has commended Ndi Mbaukwu Community for throwing their weights behind the All- Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, during yesterday’s state assembly election.

 

The Deputy Governor gave the commendation after hearing the scores of APGA party in his ward at Mbaukwu, Awka South Local Government Area.

He said that APGA Government has worked for Mbaukwu Community and the entire state, and will continue to ensure the equitable distribution of democracy dividends.

 

Rating the state House of Assembly election in Mbaukwu as relatively seamless, Deputy Governor Ibezim, noted that there is still much room for improvement in Nigeria’s electoral system.

Speaking in an interview, some stakeholders in the area, including the Managing Director, Anambra Indigenous and Herbal Medicine, Dr Daniel Ekenejie, state chairman, Road Transport Association of Nigeria, Comrade Chinedu Nwabueze, Chairman of Akabor Village Mbaukwu, Mr. Odira Eze, and Mr. Chukwunonso Dim, commended INEC for ensuring a hitch free election, and requested it to restore the electorates’ confidence on the commission by making sure that the results of the election represent the will of the people.

Others, including Sir Angus Ibezim and Dr Okechi Egbune, commended Nigerians on their recent level of political enlightenment and efforts towards the enthronement of good governance, and expressed hope that the confidence Nigerians repose in INEC will not be in vain.
