The Transition Committee Chairman of Dunukofia Local government area, Mr. Augustine Onyemaobi says the impressive performance of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in the March eighteen State House of Assembly election is due to the spectacular performance of Governor Chukwuma Soludo after one year in office.
Political Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that the Local government Chairman disclosed this while commenting on one year anniversary of Governor Soludo.
Mr. Onyemaobi observed that governance has taken a new dawn since Governor Soludo started piloting the affairs of the State as over two hundred kilometers of roads awarded by the Governor are currently under construction, while five thousand teachers have been employed and posted to public schools across the state to enhance effective teaching and learning.
He said it is also on record that the Soludo administration has taken many youths off the streets by engaging them in his one youth two skills programme going in the twenty-one Local government areas in the state as well as employed almost three hundred health personnel to work in general hospitals, which he noted has filled the gap created by lack of manpower in the health sector among others.
The Local government Chairman however appealed to Governor Soludo to flag off the construction of Ukpo-Nawgu-Isuanocha road to give the people a sense of belonging and ease their sufferings.
He maintained that Nawgu is the only community that has no tarred road and the road when constructed will boost socio economic activities of Anambra State.
On his part, a native of Nawgu, Dr. Godwin Nwafor while expressing gratitude to Governor Soludo for appointing Mr. Onyemaobi, a native of Nawgu as the Transition Committee Chairman of Dunukofia Local government area revealed that the Ukpo-Nawgu-Isuanacha road is of utmost importance to them as it will enhance evacuation of their farm produce to urban areas as well as boost their economic activities which he said has been put to a halt because of the deplorable condition of the road
