Anambra State teachers have been charged to engage students in activities to make their teachings learner-centered.

 

The chairman, Post Primary Schools Service Commission, PPSSC, Professor Nkechi Ikediugwu, gave the charge while speaking in a workshop, organized for the newly recruited teachers in Awka Zone, at St John of God Secondary School, Awka.

 

Professor Ikediugwu, reminded the newly recruited teachers that teaching is a noble profession and mother to other professions hence, should strive to maintain the enviable position of the profession.

While reminding them that they are dealing with the future leaders of the nation, Professor Ikediugwu, pointed out that the essence of the workshop was to integrate and enlighten the new teachers on the things they need to know and do in order to be successful and effective teachers.

 

She charged them to be punctual and regular to school, prepare and write their lesson plans and notes, cover their lesson periods and scheme before the term ends.

The Education boss appreciated Governor Chukwuma Soludo for having the welfare of school children at heart through the recruitment of more teachers even as she assured the new teachers that the government of Anambra State is ever willing to encourage and empower them.
