Family members, friends and well-wishers yesterday converged on the Anambra International Convention Center in Awka to celebrate the union between the Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Youth Empowerment, Dr. Nelson Omenugha and his wife Chidera.

 

The ceremony began with a holy mass officiated by the Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Most Reverend Jonas Benson Okoye and a host of other priests, including a visiting Bishop, Most Reverend Matthew Kukah of Sokoto Diocese at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral Awka.

 

Speaking at the reception, the Chief of Staff to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi advised the young couple to live in peace in addition to understanding each other and wished them a happy and successful married life.

 

Extending their felicitations, the Member-Elect for Idemili North Federal Constituency, Mr Uche Annie-Okonkwo and the National President of Anambra State Association of Town Unions, Barrister Titus Akpudo advised the couple to remain committed to their marital vows in order to enjoy peace and success in their journey.

 

In their separate remarks, the Commissioner For Environment, Engineer Felix Odimegwu and the Commissioner for Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Barrister Anthony Ifeanya advised the couple to love and respect each other.

 

Another friend of the groom, Dr Chikwado James advised the couple to uphold the virtues of patience and tolerance to succeed in their marriage.

 

Responding the couple Dr Nelson and Mrs Chidera Omenugha thanked God for making their prayers and dream a reality and thanked everyone for honouring their invitation while praying for journey mercies as they return to their various destinations.

 

Other dignitaries at the occasion were the Secretary to the Anambra State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Deputy Chief of Staff, Chief Chinedu Nwoye, the Commissioner for Culture Entertainment and Tourism, Mr Don Onyenji, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake., the Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr Sly Ezeokenwa and the Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Sir. Chido Obidiegwu amongst others

 

The event featured cutting of the cake, presentation of gifts, music performance by Prince Gozie Okeke, and nuptial dance by the couple.
