Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, has warned that henceforth, school principals would be held responsible for any act or omission resulting in examination malpractice during the forthcoming West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE.

Professor Chuma-Udeh gave the warning during a briefing session for principals, organized by the Anambra State Branch office of the West African Examinations Council, WAEC, in preparation of the 2023 examination.

She stated that following the poor performance of supervisors that resulted to the flagging of some schools for examination malpractice, all the former supervisors that were nominated by principals in the previous examinations have been replaced by new ones.

Commissioner Chuma-Udeh noted that with the support of principals, Anambra State would reclaim its position as the center of excellence in education.

Highpoint of the briefing, held at St John of God Girls Secondary School, Awka, was the undertaking by the principals to support all efforts by the Commissioner to eradicate examination malpractice.
