The efforts of the Anambra State government aimed at improving the security of life and property of the citizenry has continued to attract commendations from major stakeholders.

 

According to one of the stakeholders who is the traditional ruler of Umueri in Anambra East local government area, Igwe Ben Emeka, the gradual restoration of security in Anambra State by the government of Professor Chukwuma Soludo will boost business transactions there by improving the revenue profile of Anambra State.

 

Igwe Emeka who spoke on ABS Radio and Television programme in Awka regretted the series of setbacks recorded in business transactions during the period of insecurity especially for those in the hospitality industry, maintained that with gradual restoration of security of life and property, the hospitality industry which is part of tourism will continue to add value to the development of Anambra State especially in contributing to the state internally generated revenue which will in turn help the government in its development especially road construction and reconstruction among others.

 

Igwe Emeka who is a proprietor of a Hospitality industry in Anambra State, called on the government to always patronize Hotels in Anambra State during State functions which he said will go a long way in strengthening the business in addition to building more synergy and confidence between the government and proprietors of hospitality industry in Anambra State.

 

He called on the government to work towards having a hotel directory in Anambra State which he said will give the intending visitor to Anambra State firsthand Information of hotels in Anambra State, with a view to enhancing its patronage which he said will further bring Anambra State to international limelight.

 

Igwe Emeka while calling on both the federal and state government to look into the issue of multiple taxation which he said is discouraging investors, however urged the people to always pray for and support those in leadership positions to enable them to continue to deliver on their mandate.

 

He called on the people to see the development of Anambra State as a collective responsibility, charging them to always protect public facilities against vandalization.
