Anambra State Commissioner for Local Government Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mr Tony Collins Nwabunwanne has advised the people of Umueze Anam in Anambra West Local Government Area to make Oda Omabala River a tourist attraction.

 

Mr Nwabunwanne who gave the advise when some Executive members of the Umueze Anam Town Union Development paid him a Courtesy Visit in his office at Government House, Awka, condemned the activities of those who engage in petty trading on top of the bridge, urging them to have a rethink.

The Commissioner who urged them to ensure that peace reigns in their area also appealed to them to give the desired support to the new President-General of the community.

 

On his part, the Member representing Anambra West Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Mr Patrick Udoba commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo and Mr Nwabunwanne for presenting Certificate of recognition to the duly elected President-General after twenty-six years the position eluded them.

He urged the new executive to look into the activities of tricycle and Motorcycle operators whom he alleged constitute nuisance in the Oda Omabala River.

 

Responding, the President-General, Chief Emmanuel Anijah thanked the people of Umueze Anam for finding him worthy of the position and assured that he will deliver on his mandate.

He promised to carry everybody along in his administration.
