Governor Soludo has reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of workers in Anambra State.

 

The Government gave the commitment on occasion of workers day celebration in Awka.

The Governor who joined Anambra workers to mark the 2023 workers say slated for 1st of May maintained that his administration will continue to partner the workers towards building a better Anambra State.

 

The Governor who was addressing the colleague of organized labour union thanked Anambra State workers for their support and promised to remain committed to their well-being.

He noted that anything his administration can’t do for Anambra workers must be one that is not financially feasible and assured to gradually and systematically clear the old arrears of gratuity being owed Anambra retiree

 

He encouraged the workers to work together with government to make Anambra State livable and prosperous.

Governor Soludo further called on all the union related to workforce to work hard for the state to achieve sustainable development and promised to remain resolute to his promises of making Anambra livable and prosperous.

Chairman, Nigerian Labour Congress, Anambra State Chapter, Comrade Humphrey Nwafor and his Trade Union Congress of Nigeria counterpart, Comrade Chris Ogbonna in their addresses commended Governor Soludo for his tireless efforts towards making Anambra peaceful and progressive.

They Said No nation can develop beyond the capacity of it’s workforce and presented some of the challenges faced by the workers

 

The Theme of the 2023 workers day is ” Workers Right and Socio-economic Justice”

Trade Union Congress, Nigeria Labour Congress, Nigeria Union of Journalists, National Union of Local Government Employees, Nigeria Union of Teachers among other organized labour unions attended the event held at the Dr Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka.

In a vote of thanks, the State Head of Service, Barrister Theodora Igwegbe, appreciated the Governor for being dedicated to the plight of Anambra Workers, pledging to continue to support the Governor’s lofty vision for the state.

The Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyeka Ibezim, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor, Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, Principal Secretary to the Governor, Barr. JPC Anaeto, Commissioner for Information, Sir Paul Nwosu and his colleagues, as well as the Managing Director of ABS, Sir Chido Obidiegwu, and the President of ASATU, Barr Titus Akpudo, among others attended the function.
