Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism Mr Don Onyenji has appreciated Saint Joseph’s Parish of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka for the meritorious service award bestowed on him during the Father’s Day.

 

The Commissioner who promised to continue to serve God and humanity for the good of the society thanked Governor Chukwuma Soludo for finding him worthy to serve in his government and promised to continue to deliver on his mandate.

 

He commended the good work Governor Soludo is doing in areas of road infrastructure and in the Ministry of Culture, Entertainment and Tourism and urged Ndi Anambra to continue with their support to his administration in its commitment to making Anambra a livable and prosperous homeland.

On his part, the Parish Vicar Reverend Father Alphonsus Obiekezie who spoke on the topic Christ is the way, the Truth and the life noted that whoever will follow him will have eternal life.

 

He stressed the need for the people to always resolve conflicts in various Institutions to guarantee peace and prosperity in the society.

Reverend Father Obiekezie charged fathers to take up their responsibilities as the head of the family by ensuring that they help to entrench peace in the society.

 

He also called for fairness and equity in dealing with issues of the society to encourage development.

The Chairman of the Catholic Men’s Organization of the Parish Dr Bruno Ibekilo said that they used Father’s Day to appreciate those who have contributed to the development of the Church and humanity.
