The immediate past Vice president of Rotary international Dr Yinka Babalola has charged Rotary leaders to always aspire to make a positive impact wherever they are.

 

Addressing members of alumni of Rotary leadership institute during the 2023 Rotary International district 9142 conference in Awka, Dr Babalola maintained that leadership is not all about position adding that it is about solving problems.

 

Dr Babalola stressed the need for leaders to always step up for challenges cautioning them against allowing certain issues go wrong in their areas of jurisdiction.

He charged leaders to always listen to advice and make consultations before taking any decision in order to excel in their various responsibilities.

 

The District Governor of Rotary International district 9142, Dr Grace Okaro who said that Rotary is for humanitarian service, commended all those who have been supporting Rotary activities calling for its sustainability.

 

The immediate past Vice president of Rotary International, Dr Babalola urged those occupying leadership positions to be mindful of the nature of their conversations all the time.

In a remark, the chairman of Rotary leadership training institute in district 9142 Dr Sam Uko, while reminding those in leadership positions to always motivate those they lead, cautioned them against seeing themselves as Lords.

 

Some Rotarians present at the event Rotarian Judy Charles of Rotary club of Uyo Metropolis and Rotarian Kanayo Obidigbo of Awka Municipal and past Assistant Governor Sir Dennis Ekemezie, stressed the need for all future Rotary presidents to pass through series of trainings in order to excel in their responsibilities

 

Those present during the event including past District Governors of Rotary Dr Dan Ajawara, Okey Okonkwo, the incoming District Governor Dr Ekan Emah as well as the incoming Assistant District Governor, Rotarian Abuchi Nwozor, stressed the need for Rotary leaders to see themselves as leaders who are chosen to make positive impact on the people.
