Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria, ACPN, Anambra State Branch, has held its 32nd Annual Conference.
The conference, held in Awka, had “From Crises to Preparedness: Future of Community Pharmacy Practice in Anambra State” as its theme.
The event brought together pharmacists, healthcare professionals, experts, and stakeholders from across the country.
ACPN, a professional body dedicated to advancing community pharmacy practice in Nigeria especially in Anambra State, convened this year’s conference to address the challenges faced by community pharmacists during crises and explore strategies to enhance preparedness for the future.
In his welcome address, the state chairman of ACPN, Pharmacist Henry Iloh, while thanking all that graced the event, emphasized the importance of community pharmacists in providing accessible healthcare services, particularly during challenging times.
Pharmacist Iloh, stated that the event was aimed at equipping pharmacists with the necessary tools and knowledge to navigate crises effectively and ensure better preparedness for the future.
For the chairman, Planning Committee, Pharmacist Chioma Chike-Nwankwo, despite the constant evolvement of the world and the challenges that come with time, the collective effort and hard work of community pharmacists have always helped in overcoming challenges.
In his remark, the National Chairman of ACPN, Pharmacist Adewale Oladigbolu, congratulated Anambra State Branch for its achievements, noting that despite the crises that are abound, what matters most is the ability to find a way forward.
In his keynote address, a former Director General, Standard Organization of Nigeria, SON, Dr. Ikem Odumodu, said that community pharmacists play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications within their communities and are also healthcare professionals, who are licensed to dispense medications, provide medication counseling, and offer a range of pharmaceutical services to the public, advising them not to relent in play their vital role.
The event, which showcased a diverse range of networking opportunities, was graced by dignitaries including, Senator Uche Ekwunife, representing Anambra Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly.
