People from all walks of life recently converged on Obosi in Idemili North Local Government Area for the burial rites of Deaconess Victoria Chidoka.
The funeral service held at Saint Andrew’s Anglican Church Obosi officiated by the Bishop of the Niger, Right Reverend Owen Nwokolo was graced by the Archbishop Metropolitan and Primate of all Nigeria Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba among others.
Deaconess Victoria Chidoka aged seventy-five is the mother of the former Minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka and the member representing Idemili North and South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Chief Obinna Chidoka, among other siblings
In his exhortation, the Primate represented by the Dean Church of Nigeria, Most Reverend Ali Buba Lamidi said if Christians do not acknowledge the second coming of Jesus Christ, Christian faith is in vain, reminding the faithful of the need to position their life journey towards making decisions for eternity.
Describing the deceased as a woman who lived an impactful life serving God and humanity, he encouraged the family to uphold her legacies.
In his speech, the first son Chief Osita Chidoka who spoke of her positive attributes highlighted that the funeral ceremony was an opportunity to champion a course in contributing their quota towards early detection of cancer scourge in the society.
Describing her mother as a philanthropist par excellence, her only daughter, Pastor Ada Egbon promised to immortalize her legacies.
Commiserating with the family, the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr Chris Ngige and the former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the just concluded presidential election Alhaji Atiku Abubakar represented by Chief Obiora Okonkwo, said the deceased was a mother to all, encouraging the family to be consoled by her virtues.
Others who spoke including a former Anambra state Lawmaker, Mr Chuka Ezenwune and a stakeholder, Mr. Emeka Asimone urged them to take solace in the Lord.
Various groups and in-laws took turn to pay their last respects as live band entertained the sympathizers.
