An Executive Director in Anambra State Internal Revenue Service, AIRS, Dr Christian Mmadubuko, says all round development of the state is the top priority of the present administration which requires resources to be achieved.
Dr Mmadubuko, who stated this at Onitsha, shortly after issuing demand notices to some offices and facilitating the arrest of a suspected illegal revenue collector at Nnewi, explained that developed countries did not just get to where they are today but achieved it through proper generation and appropriation of internally generated revenue.
While noting that Anambra State Government knows that its vision of a prosperous and livable state cannot be achieved without going through a similar process, Dr Mmadubuko, lamented that over the years the state government has lost substantial amount of money to people amassing wealth at its expense.
He further highlighted the importance of tax payment and pleaded to the citizenry to support giant strides of Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration by ensuring regular payment of their taxes.
The exercise was carried out with the support of a joint team of security personal while some vehicles of a transport company that failed to pay its levies were seized .
