Governor Chukwuma Soludo says the state will continue to enter into strategic partnership to maximize benefits for Ndi Anambra.
Governor Soludo who spoke at the inauguration of new state Executives of Christian Council of Nigeria, Anambra State, held at the Archbishop CJ Patterson Auditorium, All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha, where he was given an award as the Solution Governor and Father of Ecumenism, described the church as the most important civil society in Anambra.
The Governor said the state must be free from all terror groups parading in different guises in the bush and regretted the recent killings in Ogbaru, adding that the criminal elements-built shrine in every of the camps raided where they also initiate the young ones, a trend which he said is growing very fast, but stated that his administration is partnering effectively with Federal security forces and Vigilantes to overcome the challenge.
Governor Soludo who recalled his relationship with the new Chairman of Christian Council of Nigeria, Anambra State, the Rt. Rev. Owen Nwokolo, Bishop on the Niger, from Secondary school, called for hands to be on deck to surmount the challenges and thanked Ndi Anambra for speaking up and promised to give all necessary support to CCN to help strengthen the bond among Christians.
In an address after their inauguration, the chairman CCN, Anambra state, Rt. Rev. Nwokolo said the award given to Governor Soludo was in recognition of his employment opportunities, tackling of security challenges in the state, infrastructural development, and his unapologetic stand that Anambra is a Christian State and explained that the CCN is created in zones and that all the wings are fully functional in twenty -one local government Areas of Anambra state.
The Bishop of Ihiala Diocese, Right Reverend Israel Okoye in words of exultation, charged the church on unity of purpose as Christ prayed for His Church to be one.
