About two hundred and fifty thousand Ndi Anambra are to be gainfully empowered within the next nine months by Hope for Nigeria Initiative.

The National Coordinator, Hope for Nigeria Initiative, Mr. Kenny Solaye disclosed this at the inauguration of the Anambra State chapter of the organization in Awka.

The inauguration was attended by the state and all the twenty-one local government areas Coordinators, as well as others who would work for the progress of the project.

 

Hope for Nigeria Initiative was designed to provide employment for seven thousand five hundred Ndi Anambra who are experts in various fields of endeavor for nine months.

It is designed in such a way that two hundred thousand persons will be trained in various skill acquisition programmes, while the rest fifty thousand persons will be trained in agriculture for the period of nine months, after which they will be given equipment and fund to set up their own businesses aimed at lifting the entire population of Anambra state out of poverty.

Inaugurating the Anambra State chapter of the association, the National Coordinator, Mr. Solaye said the programme will kick off ten days from the day of the inauguration, and that all the communities will help in providing safe places where equipment for the skill acquisition programs will be kept.

 

He explained that members of the association have toured thirty states within various regions of the country, but Anambra is the first state to have its chapter inaugurated, calling for seriousness from the workers and beneficiaries.

Speaking earlier, the state Coordinator of Hope for Nigeria Initiative, Ambassador Robinson Ezike, said their mission is to nurture potential and harness creativity and energy of young minds, as well as provide them with the tools needed to build a better tomorrow.

 

 

In a speech, a special guest of honor at the event, Professor Nonso Ezike, urged the youths to rejuvenate the entrepreneurial spirit which Ndi Anambra are known for.
