Supporters and friends of the Labour Party Presidential candidate at the just concluded general elections, former Governor Peter Obi, have held an interdenominational service, to seek God’s intervention on the expected ruling on the case before the Presidential Elections Petitions Tribunal where he is questioning the outcome of the election.
The prayer session which had in attendance, members of the Labour Party, friends and well-wishers of former Governor Obi from Anaocha-Njikoka-Dunukofia federal constituency was organized by the member elect for the federal constituency , Honourable George Ozodinobi at Nimo in Njikoka Local Government Area.
the opening speech was delivered by Venerable Chamberlin Ofornakara of Agulu Archdeaconry.
In a homily at the service, Reverend Father Venatius Ogbuagu of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, Ifitedunu said that it is unfortunate that Nigeria is bedeviled with selfish politicians whose sole interest for joining politics is to emass wealth and channel public resources and fund for their personal aggrandizement.
While condemning insecurity, killings, kidnapping and other social vices ravaging the country, Reverend Father Ogbuagu prayed God to touch the minds of the judges to give an upright ruling on the case, and not to bend the truth.
Later during the prayer session, an Anglican Priest, Reverend Canon Emmanuel Ubaekwena, prayed against any blood shed or evil machinations against those whom God will use to deliver the truth of giving the judgement in favour of former Governor Peter Obi, noting that time has come to deliver Nigeria from the clutches of the evil while Reverend Michael Ufoaro, General Over Seer Jehovah Holy Sabbath Mission, Nimo, in a chain prayer, prayed for blessings upon the convener Honourable Ozodinobi and Mr Peter Obi and all who are working to ensure the manifestation of the truth about the mandate Nigerians gave out during the February 25th presidential election.
A former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Anambra state, Barrister Peter Afuba SAN who was part of the prayer session said that the move is a welcome development as according to him, only God’s intervention is needed at this time, adding that the future of Nigerian nation depends on the court ruling on the case.
The Organizer of the programme, Honourable Ozodinobi, appreciated all who gathered to be part of the event, urging them not to relent in praying for miracle, and expressed optimism that the case will go in favour of former Governor, Obi.
