Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB, has officially inaugurated the 2022/2023 Career Day for primary school pupils across the state.

 

The event, organized by the Guidance and Counseling Desk, Department of Academic Services ASUBEB Awka, took place at the utility hall, ASUBEB Headquarters Awka.

The career day was meant for primary six pupils from different primary schools across the state, Guidance and Counseling Desk Officers from the twenty-one council areas of the state, Heads of sections of Academic Services in the twenty-one council areas, Counsellors, Para Counsellors and some selected teachers.

 

Declaring the day open, the executive chairman, ASUBEB, Dr. Vera Nwadinobi, noted that career day is an annual event in the basic education sub sector, aimed at exposing the pupils to various career choices.

Dr. Nwadinobi, while noting that the programme will be stepped down to all public primary schools in the state, encouraged the pupils and counsellors to look beyond most chosen careers in Nigeria and focus on skill-based careers that align with Governor Chukwuma Soludo ‘s vision of establishing educational system that produces human capital that is productive at home and exportable abroad.

 

The Board Secretary, Mrs. Loveline Mgbemena, Permanent Board Member one, Honourable Ifeyinwa Anatune, her Member Three counterpart, Lady Chinyere Azodo and the Director, Department of Academic Services, Mrs. Ogochukwu Obi, among others were present during the event.

Paper presentations by Barrister Ngozi Alukwe, Nurse Cynthia Ike and Mrs. Grace Nwabueze as well as career parade by pupils of Udeozor Memorial Primary School, formed the highlights of the event.
