The Bishop on The Niger, Right Reverend Owen Nwokolo has said that democracy is about good leadership and followership.
The bishop in an interview with journalists on June 12, said that in John 21verse 15, God commanded Peter to feed his lambs, explaining that Peter represents the apostles, Christians and leaders across the world while the lambs and sheep cover all that live on earth, and noted that God blessed Nigeria with natural resources which those in authority will use to feed the lambs by ensuring provision of basic amenities for the people.
Bishop Nwokolo said democracy is all about having a good electioneering programme, respect the rights of people, peoples votes count, where there is no tribalism and sectionalism, where every citizen is expected to live in any part of the country without fear of molestation and where the citizens are well taken care of.
On his part, the Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Anambra state, Venerable Joseph Nweke who decried the huge corruption practices in Nigeria urged the affluent and those in leadership position to Imbibe the culture of charity, and always remember the less privileged ones.
