The Archbishop Metropolitan and Primate of All Nigeria, Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba has urged Christians to be voice for the voiceless and lead transformation agenda in their localities.

The Primate who stated this while interacting with Media practitioners at the night of tributes and service of songs in honour of the late Most Reverend Maxwell Samuel Anikwenwa in Abuja, urged leaders to emulate the virtue of courage displayed by the one-time Dean of the Church of Nigeria.

It was an evening of encomiums as associates, family, friends and well-wishers of the former Dean converged on the National Christian Centre to testify to his defense of mankind and the church.

Most Reverend Ndukuba described the late Most Reverend Anikwenwa as a voice of social gospel, lover of justice, who never supported anything that will bring oppression and subjugation of any person or group.

Other speakers including the former Primate Church of Nigeria, Most Revered Nicholas Okoh, former Governor of Anambra State, Dame Virgie Etiaba, the traditional ruler of Awkuzu, Professor Charles Anikweze among others paid glowing tribute to the late Church leader.

Son of the deceased, Venerable Uche Anikwenwa, said, his father was a disciplinarian, focused, a man with wisdom and vision and an Anglican personified, who believed and cared for the people and society.

The granddaughter of the late Dean, Miss Ola Daniel-Okoye said she missed getting a bible from her grandfather as she is still in primary school.

Most Reverend Anikwenwa who was the pioneer Bishop of Awka Diocese, Archbishop of the defunct Province Two and pioneer Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and one-time Dean of the Church of Nigeria died at the age of eighty-two.
