The Secretary General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Wing Worldwide, Maazi Chukwuma Okpalezeukwu, has joined millions of people of goodwill to call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to release the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
Speaking to newsmen in Awka, Mazi Okpalezeukwu, noted that he joined the likes of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Governor Peter Mba of Enugu State and others to call for the immediate release of the IPOB Leader for peace and security of the South East Region, as well as Nigeria at large.
According to him, considering the fact that Governor Soludo had earlier volunteered to stand as surety for Maazi Kanu, he appealed to the Tinubu led federal government to heed the call by notable Nigerian men and women, especially Igbo Youth Leaders and stakeholders and release the IPOB Leader and further ensure equity for the overall interest of the country.
He regretted the recent call of disunity, made by a Niger Delta Militant Leader, Alhaji Asari Dokubo, for Kanu not to be released, describing it as unfortunate, and advised President Tinubu, to prioritize peace, national healing; and not to listen to such misguided utterances made out of bad blood.
