Ndi Ngbo Villages Youth Union Oba has been inaugurated.

 

The inauguration held at Umuogali School field Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area, attracted Presidents and chairmen of all the villages and quarters in Ndi Ngbo Villages Oba, their chiefs, youths, stakeholders of the villages and important dignitaries from across the state.

The villages that made up Ndi Ngbo include Umuogali, Ogwugwu and Aboji Obama while Ngbo is where palm wine, timber, natural fish and other plantations are in abundant and harvested in Oba community.

 

Speaking during the inauguration, the Regent of Oba, Chief Noel Ezenwa thanked God for blessing Ndi Ngbo with natural endowments which they inherited from their forefathers and urged Ndi Ngbo Villages youths to keep the history alive.

Giving a brief history of Ndi Ngbo, the Prime Minister of Oba, Chief Boniface Onyeka-Okom who explained the hurdles they went through, stated that Ngbo originated from their forefathers which served as a means of livelihood to majority of them and urged Ndi Ngbo youths not to allow their identity and the natural blessings in the land to diminish or go extinct in their time

In their separate speeches, the chairman Ndi Ngbo Villages Union, Nze Sunday Obinwa and the Chairman, Ndi Ngbo Villages Youth Union Oba, Comrade Onochie Ejibendu expressed gratitude to all stakeholders of Ndi Ngbo Villages Union for their support in making the inauguration a huge success and promised to protect their heritage as Ndi Ngbo and to ensure that the labours of their forefathers in upholding the Ngbo Union will never be in futility.

Contributing, one of the members of Board of Trustees of the union who is also the chairman Umuagu Youth Wing Hon. Ekene Aghasiefo, President General Umuogali Youth, Mr. Chukwunyelu Nwachukwu and chairman Uruokokwu Umuogali Oba, Mr. Ifediora Ayinofu stated that the essence of the inauguration was to strengthen the brotherhood relationship between the three villages that made up Ndi Ngbo namely Umuogali, Ogwugwu and Aboji Oba for continued empowerment to ensure that the youths are gainfully employed.

The Commander Ndi Ngbo Villages Youths, Comrade Chukwuanugo Anaemesim, Commander Okpuno Etiti Welfare, Mr. Maxwell Oramadike, Comrade Chikodinma Akudinobi and Chief Anthony Nwoye listed benefits of Ngbo to include palm wine, crops, timber and other woods as well as natural fish among others.

 

Inauguration of a twelve-member executive and Board of Trustees members of Ndi Ngbo Villages Youth Union, demonstration of palm wine tapping, cultural dance by Umuoma Etumba and other displays climaxed the event.
