The Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South Local Government Area, Prince Neville Uchendu has promised to embark on programmes and partnerships that will bring meaningful development to the Area and also add value to the lives of the people.
Speaking at the Orumba South Council Secretariat Umunze during the unveiling of the liaison Office of the United Nations International Peace and Governance Council located within the council premises, Prince Uchendu expressed readiness to collaborate with the organization since their mission is in line with his developmental philosophy.
He granted the United Nations International Peace and Governance Council’s requests which include provision of an office space in the Secretariat as liaison Office, constituting local government committee for the organization as well as massive sensitization of the people of the area on Sustainable Development Goals among others.
Prince Uchendu urged them to live up to their mandate of ensuring peace and good governance in Orumba South Local Government Area through advocacy and other lofty programmes.
Earlier, the Orumba South Director of the United Nations International Peace and Governance Council, Engineer Elias Ilechukwu, revealed that their mission in Orumba South was to ensure peaceful resolution of conflicts, promotion of education of the children of the area as well as socioeconomic development and empowerment of various forms.
Contributing, two officials of the organization, Dr. Nneka Mefoh and Ambassador Amaka Ezedioramma, expressed gratitude to the Orumba South Council Chairman, Prince Uchendu for providing an office space for them, assuring that they will not disappoint the Council and the people.
In attendance were the Orumba South Head of Local Government Administration, Mr. Jonathan Uzoigwe and directors of the organization in Aguata, Orumba North, Idemili South and Nnewi North Local Government Areas among others.
