Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare Honourable Ify Obinabo has received an award of recognition for her numerous interventions on issues concerning women, children, and young girls in the state.
The award was presented to her by the Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative, AHNI in collaboration with the Global Fund during the Launch of startups for economic empowerment of three hundred adolescent girls and Women in Anambra state.
Speaking after receiving the award, Honourable Obinabo appreciated the organizers of the economic empowerment for finding her worthy of the award and assured that she will continue to do her best in ensuring that the rights of Women and children are not trampled upon.
Honourable Obinabo charged everyone, especially mothers to be agents of change in order to instill positive behavior in their children and the society at large.
The event which had lined up of speakers was targeted at empowering adolescent girls and young women with vocational skills and seed grants of startups and businesses they were trained on.
Official launch of startups for economic empowerment and a tour to the stand of some samples of craft by trainees of various vocational skills climaxed the event.
