Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, has received an Excellence Strategic Communication award from the Rotary Club of Amawbia Sports City.
The Managing Director of the State government owned electronic Media Sir Chido Obidiegwu received the award during the investiture of the charter President of Rotary Club of Amawbia Sports City, Rotarian Jude Nwokike at Amawbia in Awka South Local Government Area.
Speaking after receiving the award, the Managing Director of the Anambra Broadcasting Service Sir Chido maintained that the disruptive agenda of the Soludo administration encouraged critical thinking and re-assured that the station will continue to serve the interest of the masses, especially in education, and support the club through enlightenment.
Earlier, the Chairman on the occasion and former Director-General of Standard Organization of Nigeria, SON, Dr. Ikem Odumodu, who explained that every fund raised will be properly accounted for, called for more support from public-spirited individuals, adding that the club will continue to invest in education, health care, peace building, among others
On his part, the charter President of Rotary Club of Amawbia Sports City, Rotarian Nwokike said the club has come to stay in Amawbia Metropolis and maintained that God created man to make those around him happy and healthy.
The traditional ruler of Umuawulu, Igwe Joel Egwuonwu, and his Ifitedunu counterpart, Igwe Emeka Ilouno, among others, also received awards at the event attended by the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly Chief Victor Umeh, Member representing Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Professor Lilian Orogbu.
