New students of Federal College of Education Technical Umunze have been encouraged to learn employable skills that will make them job creators on completion of their various programmes.
Speaking at the joint matriculation ceremonies for National Certificate of Examination, degree and Professor Diploma in Education students, 2022/2023 academic session, the Provost of the College, Dr. Theresa Okoli, said the College is always laying emphasis and providing necessary academic support for students in the pursuit of their career.
The provost maintained that her long-term goal is to make the College a centre of excellence, producing students that come out in flying colour, while assuring that the college management will continue to provide the required facilities and resources for excellence to thrive.
Dr. Okoli, urged the students to pursue their studies diligently and desist from malpractices and cult related activities, stressing that the College does not condole money-for-marks, harassment or exploitation of students in any form.
She advised the matriculants to live by their vow and conduct themselves properly throughout their years and never spend so much time on idle talks and chatting on social media.
The students later took oath administered by the College Registrar, Mrs Bessy Nkah.
Some of the new students from the School of Business Education, Miss Chidiebele, Okoli, Mr Francis Okafor and Mr. Ikechukwu Okoro, expressed happiness over their new academic status .
