The Archbishop, Province of the Niger, the Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, has identified good character, morals and lifestyle as necessary virtues to live a successful life.

 

The Most Reverend Ibezim, who is also the Bishop of Awka Anglican Diocese, stated this at St Paul’s University Secondary School, Nibo-Nise, during a valedictory service and prize giving ceremony for 2023 class of the school.

Archbishop Ibezim, who is also the proprietor of the school, tasked the graduating students to uphold all the teachings and morals instilled in them to be successful in life.

Speaking at the event , the state Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, represented by Mr. Ambrose Ikwumelu, commended the management and staff of the school for their serene environment and for grooming and molding the students into better members of the society.

 

Professor Chuma-Udeh urged the graduands to be good ambassadors of the school by eschewing all social vices.

Addressing the students, the chairman, Post Primary Schools Service Commission, PPSSC, Anambra State, Professor Nkechi Ikediugwu, who is also the chairman, Niger Provincial and Awka Diocesan Education Board, said that training a child in a mission school is a good idea as they will be instilled with strong moral values and other religious virtues that will make them better members of the society.

In an address of welcome, the Principal of the school, Reverend Canon Joseph Onyibo, noted that they do not joke with academics, spiritual and moral life, urging the outgoing students to hold unto Jesus Christ and all the positive values they garnered.

In a paper presentation on ‘Life After School’, a former Principal of the school, Venerable Ifeanyi Umeh, encouraged them to learn skills while seeking for further education to keep them busy all through their life.

 

In their separate speeches, two of the best graduating students, Victor Aniekwe and Divine Onuora, testified that they have been exposed to all manner of learning and spiritual life.

Presentation of gifts to students by Most Reverend Ibezim, awards presentation to some individuals that contributed to the growth of the school by the President, Women’s Ministry, Awka Diocese, Mrs. Martha Ibezim, and other displays climaxed the event.
