The Special Assistant to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Media, Mr Nnanna Nzewi, says the present harsh economic condition in Nigeria calls for people to render helping hands to others.
Mr Nzewi stated this at the installation of the seventeenth President of Rotaract Club of Awka GRA which also featured award presentations to selected individuals.
He encouraged young people to have “group mind alliance” which he said is an alliance of like minded people that are committed to making positive contributions to the society in order to continue making positive impacts, adding that the awards received at the event show that people are aware of the positive contributions others are making in the society.
Speaking after she received the symbol of authority and was administered oath of office, the seventeenth President of Rotaract Club of Awka GRA Rotaractor Oluchi Oguji promised to redouble efforts in achieving set objectives in Rotary areas of focus for year 2023/2024 which include environment, basic education and literacy, maternal and child health, peace building and conflict resolution, disease prevention and treatment, community economic development, as well as water sanitation and hygiene.
Earlier, the immediate past President of the club,Rotractor Nzubechi Chinedum, promised to give his successor all needed support to achieve set objectives.
