Anambra State Government has warned against illegal land transactions at Mamu Forest, Ndiukwuenu in Orumba North Local Government Area, Anambra State.

A release signed by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Lands, Mr Edwin Ejike on behalf of the Commissioner for Lands, Mr Offornze Amucheazi said that

it has come to the attention of the State Government that some unauthorized persons have continued to deceive unsuspecting members of the public to purchase Government land within the forest.

It explained that government released three hundred hectares of land to the owners only and advised the public to henceforth desist from engaging in any further dealings and transactions in the above-mentioned area.

The release made clear that any further transaction on the area is illegal and unlawful, as the said purported area is purely meant for Government use and added that no one is allowed to enter, develop, build, or construct in the area specified above.

It further warned those involved to desist from dealings on State Land without first ascertaining the status of such land from the Ministry of Lands, Awka, adding that failure to adhere to the directives will attract serious consequences as the State Government will not hesitate to invoke the full weight of the Law on any person caught transacting illegal business on State Land.
