The Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism Comrade Don Onyenji has charged workers in the state to be more committed to their duties to ensure improved service delivery.
Commissioner Onyenji gave the charge during the sent forth party organized in honour of a former Director in his ministry Mr. Emma Umeokana.
Comrade Onyenji reminded them that civil service will enable one live a middle-class life as well as help model the character of the person.
He thanked God for his grace that sustained Mr. Emma Umeokana through the thirty-five years in service in good health.
The Commissioner further prayed God to continue to give the retiree long life and good health to enable him venture into something that would keep sustaining him.
On his part, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Doctor Laz Okafor, thanked Commissioner Onyenji for his support and approval towards organizing the sent forth.
He also commended Mr. Umeokana for his dedication to service while serving as Director Tourism Department in the ministry of Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, as evidenced by the testimonies from the staff.
In her comments, the Head of Department of Tourism, Mrs. Chioma Afuba while welcoming those who attended the event prayed for the good of Mr. Umeokana.
She promised on behalf of the staff of the ministry to double their efforts to ensure improved service delivery in Anambra State.
Responding, Mr. Emma Umeokana expressed gratitude to God for a successful career in civil service, and thanked the ministry for the send forth.
The event featured musical performance and dance.
